In the ninja world of “Naruto”, Hinata Hyuga stands as one of the pillars in the ninja world of both Naruto and Boruto alike. Gracing us with beauty, poise, and grade S hand-to-hand combat skills, you would not want to go toe-to-toe with this white pupil lioness! As the former heiress of the Hyuga clan and the Hidden Leaf Village's current strongest Byakugan user, Hinata’s character is an attestation to always seeing it through and never giving up no matter what fate has already decided for you.

Enter Hinata Hyuga:
Hinata is the former heiress to the prestigious Hyuga Clan, one of the most powerful clans to be housed in the Hidden Leaf Village. She is the oldest daughter of Hiashi Hyuga. As a child, Hinata was once kidnapped by a ninja from another village who was in Konoha to sign a peace treaty (supposedly). However, they secretly wanted to steal the “white eye” (Byakugan) and learn its secrets and prowess. Hiashi would then come to save his daughter by killing the ninja who kidnapped her, sparking what is now called the “Hyuga Affair”.
Since her father was the head of the clan, Hinata was raised and trained to become the heiress, but being the shy child she was, Hiashi second-guessed his decision and soon started paying more attention to Hinata’s younger sister, Hanabi. When Hanabi came of age, their father would make them spar with one another to see who would come out on top, and to be named the next leader of the Hyuga. Of course, all eyes were on Hinata and expectations were set high for her due to her being the oldest (though, I don’t believe she wanted to be the next heir to begin with, just the approval and validation from her father was enough for her). Take it that Hinata has a gentle spirit, she was unable to hurt her younger sister in their battles. Hanabi on the other hand, did not let an opportunity pass her by and ultimately beat her older sister. Becoming disappointed in his daughter, Hiashi would later dismiss her from the Clan and turn her care over to Kurenai Yuhi, a Jonin that would later become her Squad 8 Captain.
Meeting of the Red Stringed Lovers:

When Hinata enrolled at the Ninja Academy, our little princess was being bullied by some of her peers, all because of her eyes and how “creepy” they looked, dubbing her a “Byakugan monster”. This would get the attention of our future Hero, Naruto Uzumaki. Being the person he is, Naruto would defend Hinata from the bullies, but to his demise, was knocked out senselessly due to him being outnumbered. When he came to, Hinata thanked him for saving her and gave back his damaged scarf. However, Naruto allowed her to keep it, making this the first moment that our sweet girl fell in love. From then on, Hinata would find herself watching Naruto from afar in everything that he did: from training all day into the night, dispatching on missions, in the chunin exams, and events after. She would even go as far as adopting his ninja way and striving to be the best that she could, to gain the respect not only of Naruto but also the approval of her father.
Gracefully timid:

Hinata is described to be a polite, shy, soft-spoken girl. Whenever she speaks with her peers, higher-ups, or even strangers, she is always respectful. Kind and caring, you can always count on Hinata to be there for you, even when it is a detriment to her. Her kindness though, is a double-edged sword, leaving her wide open for others to overlook her, or even leaving her to be fearful of responding to people without the thought of her possibly offending them. While her father and the rest of her family thought Hinata to be the “lost cause of the Hyuga Clan”, her teammates, Kiba Inuzuka and Shino Aburame, thought otherwise; believing Hinata had a special place on the team with her special talents. In the anime, it is seen that at one point Hinata heavily relied on her teammates, but as time went on, Hinata showed more independence and confidence in herself, and her abilities. (I’m pretty sure, we all know where she got that motivation from)
A Gentle Step:
Hinata’s abilities far exceed, if not majority of her peers, most of them. ESPECIALLY when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. Possessing the “white eye” (in her case more lavender), formally known as the Byakugan, Hinata almost has 360 degrees of vision around her, except for a small blind spot at the back of her neck above the 1st thoracic vertebra. This eye ability grants Hinata to see many distances. If focused in a single direction, she can see at now, 20 kilometers. It is unknown how far she can see in Boruto. This ability also allows her to see through things, scout, identify genjutsu, go into an infrared mode, and use pinpoint accuracy when it comes to her attacks; also enabling her to assist her teammates with 100% accuracy. Combined with the Byakugan, Hinata can use a special taijutsu called the Gentle Fist. A fighting style that only members of the Hyuga Clan know. This fighting style combined with the Byakugan, gives her the ability to see her opponent's chakra network/flow, and if hit, able to stop it or use it to aid, as seen when she relocated Naruto’s shoulder. Hinata has developed two major jutsu for herself: 1: Protecting 8 trigrams sixty-four palms (her version of heavenly palm rotation). Giving her the ability to use this technique as offense and defense. 2: Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists, a technique that when struck would drain you completely of the chakra (oof). She is also able to use her Clans techniques: 32 palms (a mini version of the 64 palm technique), 64 palms, palm rotation, and 8 trigrams vacuum palms (I will go over all of these in a later post). In her adulthood, she’s able to k’o her opponent by a single strike! Gentle fist? Hmmm?? Hinata is also proficient at medical ninjutsu, being able to use the Mystical Palm Technique of her clan.

A Friend to Many:
Hinata Hyuga, now, Hinata Uzumaki, has many friends and loved ones! Her now loving and doting father, Hiashi Hyuga. Her loving and supportive younger sister, Hanabi Hyuga. The late genius of a cousin whom she looks to as a brother, Neji Hyuga. Teammates, Kiba Inuzuka and ninja hound Akamaru, Shino Aburame, along with their team captain Kurenai Yuhi. Best friends: Sakura Haruno and Ino Yamanaka.

Her loving children, Boruto and Himawari Uzumaki. Lastly and most importantly her hero in orange, Naruto Uzumaki!
From Byakugan Princess to Byakugan Queen: Hinata plays a pivotal role in the series, teaching her peers and her fans that it is okay to be shy but to not allow your timidness to hinder you from your greatness. Like many fans, I love Hinata, actually my favorite character in the entire series, due to her being seen as weak to only prove to others that she is a force to be reckoned with if pushed to the limit. I warn any ninja to step gently or suffer severely from a gentle fist when battling this kunoichi.
